Addison Central Teens Summer Camp for 2017 is Open!
Participants can register for 1 week or attend multiple weeks. Space is limited each week with a strict cut off for attendance. It is important to read each description for the sessions to make sure your child is willing to participate. Each week will be a different theme of activities. We try to focus most of our sessions on outdoors, new experiences, and celebrating Vermont’s unique opportunities.
- Camp program hours are 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. each day. Students can be dropped off and picked up 30 minutes before and after.
- Students should bring appropriate clothing, lunch, and water bottle each day.
- Teen Camp is $75.00 each week, per teen. Payment and waivers are due the Monday of each session your child is attending.
Rock Climbing – Monday – Thursday, June 26th – June 29th This week, teens will really challenge themselves on the rocks and the ropes. We’ll take trips to natural bouldering sites in Vermont, visit indoor and outdoor rock climbing facilities, and also focus on building a greater sense of respect and safety for rock climbing. Guest will also visit the teens this week to talk about their experience and also how teens can keep climbing long after summer camp is over!
Extreme Outdoors – Monday – Thursday, July 10th – July 13th This week, our activities will focus on extreme outdoor sports and activities here in Vermont and neighboring states. We’ll visit Olympic training sites, partake in some serious extreme fun ourselves, and even take a shot on the paintball field! Each day will be its own unique adventure, highlighting some really great sports, outdoors locations, and building connections with friends along the way.
Wilderness & Exploration – Monday – Thursday, July 17th – 20th During this week we will push our outdoor abilities by learning how to stay safe out on a hike, prepare food, and find our way if lost. We will also end the week with an overnight camping trip on Wednesday and a long day hike on Thursday. This week will also be full visits along the Green Mountain national forest and other neighboring outdoor sites.
*Disclaimer: An overnight camping trip is planned for Wednesday July 19th and returning July 20th. Participants attending Wednesday will need to plan to attend the overnight camping trip or only attend Monday & Tuesday of this week. There will also be a lengthy hike during the camping trip. Teens should be able to hike up to 7 miles.
Water Sports – Monday – Thursday, July 24th – 28th A week full of all things water! The teens will take trips to Lake Champlain for Stand Up Paddle Boarding, visit our favorite cliff jumping sites like Warren Falls, and take a float down the river! We’ll also spend time talking about water safety and how to plan a safe trip when visiting the water. Teens will leave this week having a better understanding of their local water sources, how to play safe, and hopefully get a chance to try something new!
S.T.E.M. – Monday – Thursday, July 31st – August 3rd This week we will explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Activities will include visits to different building sites and organizations that use innovative technology to construct their designs. We will also spend time learning different software systems, 3D printing, and introduction to coding. Throughout the week, teens will construct a boat using recycled materials. At the end of the week, teens will test their durability in an actual boat race!
